Chalmers Middleton focuses his practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, business organizations, and nonprofit law. His background in economics and tax policy informs his strategic approach to structuring estates and advising closely held businesses. He earned his Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he served as Associate Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Law Review and received the Albert C. Todd III Estate Planning Award. His education and leadership experience as an Eagle Scout contribute to his thoughtful and disciplined approach to client service. Chalmers is an active member of the South Carolina Bar’s Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Section, Tax Law Section, and Young Lawyers Division. He also participates in the Greenville Estate Planning Council and Greenville Estate Planning Study Group. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Chalmers enjoys hiking, camping, and kayaking. He and his wife, Elizabeth, are parishioners at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoy spending time outdoors together in downtown Greenville.
