Jonathan Colao is an Associate whose practice includes taxation, business organizations, tax controversy, mergers and acquisitions, and estate planning. He works closely with business owners and individuals to resolve complex tax issues and implement practical long term planning strategies.

Originally from Miami, Jonathan came to Greenville to attend Furman University and chose to make the Upstate his permanent home. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced as an Upstate tax attorney, developing significant experience representing clients before the IRS and advising on succession planning and corporate matters.

Jonathan is recognized in Best Lawyers Ones to Watch in America, Greenville Business Magazine Legal Elite, and South Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Star. He is active in the American Bar Association, South Carolina Bar, Greenville County Bar Association, Greenville Estate Planning Council, and Greenville Estate Planning Study Group, and is a Designated Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his wife Emily and their daughters Sophia and Ava. A Cuban American, he is proficient in Spanish and has a strong interest in sports, BMW automobiles, and supporting Furman athletics.
